The Academy of Cultural Heritage (Kultūros paveldo akademija) (ACH) in Vilnius is a public institution founded by agreement among the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection, Vilnius University, the Vilnius Art Academy, and the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in 1998. It is a non-profit organisation working in the area of cultural heritage protection and education.
The main goal of the Academy is to promote and strengthen the education and training of workers in the field of cultural heritage, including academic level, as well as professionals and managers. The Academy of Cultural Heritage co-ordinates the activities of the HEREIN project in Lithuania.
The Academy also initiates teaching programs for conservation and restoration students; organises regular qualification advancement courses for urban conservators, construction organisations, managers, police, and custom officers whose work is directly related to cultural heritage protection; keeps contacts with specialists and organisations, and disseminates information in this field; promotes laboratory research in cultural heritage protection; releases and promotes periodicals about cultural heritage.

The Academy of Cultural Heritage (ACH) will mobilise its own resources and those of the project in order to undertake dedicated actions on ‘Archaeology in Contemporary Europe'. As the leading cultural heritage institution in the country, specialising in training and education, the Academy will be particularly involved in interchange of students in archaeology and in cultural heritage management, and it will also engage in the definition and implementation of public outreach actions such as education programs for school pupils, site visits, informational tools pilot action towards the schools, travelling exhibition etc.
